Provide guidelines and recommendations regarding personal property division for individuals going through divorce or separation. I function as an unbiased third party in the case of dividing property as equitably as possible. I encourage both parties to make a comprehensive list of all marital personal property, including furniture, electronics, portable appliances, tools, and collectibles. If the parties are unable to complete a listing, I will complete an inventory for them. This helps to prioritize and categorize the household contents to make the process more efficient. I encourage parties to find amicable solutions and suggest alternative dispute resolution methods.

As a third party, I negotiate with both parties to reach a fair and equitable agreement.If there are court orders in place, we will follow the orders throughout the process. While a court order is preferable it is not a requirement to complete the process.
After the property division, a reasonable time frame for the physical transfer of items will be established. On the moving day, I will conduct a Supervised Move. The responsibilities of this process are to monitor the distribution of property, ensure the safety of all parties, and certify compliance with all court orders and agreements. As a rule, unless appointed as Special Master to a specific case I will not oversee or sell personal property items including but not limited to real estate, firearms, jewelry, heirlooms, or precious metals.
Civil Standby
When a civil standby is warranted with the primary goal being the safety and well-being of the individuals involved, I will provide the services needed to keep the peace. Whether the case is dealing with a history of domestic violence or threats, the case matter is a high conflict between divorcing parties, history of non-compliance with court orders, mental health concerns for one or both parties, or where child custody is a contentious issue. A civil stand-by is based on the specific circumstances of the case and the need to balance the rights and the safety of all individuals involved. I will ensure compliance with the court order so that both parties comply promoting a fair and just divorce process and preventing potential harm or property damage in a controlled environment. If needed coordinate with law enforcement to facilitate a volatile situation.
